As I patiently made progress on this piece, I noticed I was slowing down the further along I got. I know it was to better define the streams of color and light coming out of the big smiling face of the sun. I just came to focus on it as I went about painting in the rays. How the sun sends those rays down in the same methodical way as I was painting them out. It was just my romantic connection with the idea of the sun. In particular, this sun. Happy and cheerful. The way I would hope the sun would be. If it were like this painting, I am sure it would.
