Volkswagen: The people’s car

This iconic emblem really doesn’t need much introduction. The VW emblem was the pride of German craftsmanship and automotive industry. The autobahn, the popular German freeway, needed a car to go with it and this was the solution the designers came up with. My best friend’s colors of her VW were used to help define the image. She wanted a logo to match her car, so I used a variation of the colors red and black to define the image to match her car. 

A painting for Charitee

It was clear that my best friend loves her VW. Anytime I see her out and about, it is always behind the wheel of her little beauty. She had nothing in her home that was big and bold like this painting. I felt she needed something like that. Magic Mark made sure I had the right concept and was there to assist in making the magic happen. With so many different emblems to choose from I had my work cut out for me. I chose the one most people are familiar with and created this painting. 

The VW emblem

Foof has it proudly mounted on the wall by her desk, making sure that anyone coming in has to look at it. There is much feeling behind the VW symbol and I think I did a decent job of honoring that feeling. This dark and fiery version of the Volkswagen emblem really sets itself apart. I love the muted tone of the emblem and the contrast of the bright flames in the background. This piece is a fiery side of VW that is ready for anyone to enjoy.
