This may not be the mighty Mississippi, but it was strong enough to create white waters and everyone knows what that means in water. Lots of action. Here at the spot, riverside, you are sure to get some action alright. Even if your eye does not make it very far into the woods, you can see the action from right there as “ A river runs by it”.

I wanted a painting that was alive and moving. The best nature scenes that move are river shots. I wanted action from one side to the other, so I divided the composition up and made the base the most active part of the composition. The next thing was to handle the sky. Naturally clouds were the solution. The trees were a whole nother animal. I had to make them dark enough to make your eyes fill in the blanks. That way you put things in there yourself. The only change was when it came to the riverbank we are sitting at. It had to be rocky in an ode to where I live. Spokane.

Time for water

It doesn’t matter if you put this in the changing room, hallway, or by a library chair. No matter where you put it, you’re going to find it will bring a sense of completion. This piece has a way to capture your attention and distract you. Everyone has time for water. Here you give that element of water to everyone that visits your home.
