A Round of Trees

Another time

Harken back to a simpler time where round paintings were commonplace. A time where large stands of trees went unexplored and undiscovered. Here you see that come into play. Notice the fact that the bull pine are soooo much larger than the rest of the stand of trees? It’s all to harken back to another time. Here nature can play out its natural course.

Prep

One of the biggest things I did with this painting was to layer prep the gesso. I sanded in between each layer. The paint went on smoother and the process was easier. I wanted to practice the application of light onto the water and bushes . Here I made that chance happen. I made it clear that the sun was shining in the afternoon sky. I feel my control over the brush is getting better when it comes to light.
